Quick Seared Ahi Tuna Salad
I consider myself a pretty healthy, simplistic chef. Unless I’m taking on a big challenge in the kitchen, I like my meals to be quick, simple, full of flavor and pretty good for me. This Ahi Tuna salad is one of those dinner recipes that takes less than 25 minutes to prepare, and that’s only one reason why it’ll make you happy. The other reason? Because it’s delicious, of course.
Thanks to Bumble Bee, I’m now able to get restaurant quality seared ahi without actually having to sear it myself. This seared ahi tuna salad features Bumblee Bee SuperFresh. Bumble Bee SuperFresh® is a complete line of naturally-seasoned, restaurant quality, “fish-forward” prepared seafood solutions for the home. It raises the bar for what seafood lovers can expect from frozen food!
All you have to do with this mouthwatering ahi tuna is let it thaw, and enjoy! Bumble Bee SuperFresh® Seared Ahi Tuna is the first ever sushi quality “Thaw and serve” packaged seafood product. It stays frozen during the processing and never fully defrosted or re-frozen during preparation, so they can guarantee the quality is on par with what you’d expect from fine chefs who know how to source the best product for their restaurants!
I’m always scared to sear ahi because I’m afraid that I’m going to overcook it and that would just be a
Another awesome thing about these items is Bumble Bee SuperFresh® smells and tastes amazing. No fishy smells here. Because you prepare Bumble Bee SuperFresh® straight from the freezer, there isn’t any smell associated with thawing fish. And Bumble Bee’s frozen protein has stayed that way from harvest to your oven unlike most of the “fresh” fish you find at the seafood counter. That means it is fresh tasting, and fresh smelling.
I decided to make a salad because it’s so simple and quick, and I can prepare it while the ahi is defrosting! I started with quinoa, napa cabbage, grated carrots, thinly sliced radishes, red onions and cucumbers, cilantro, and sesame seeds. Toss all of these together and then make your spicy sesame miso dressing. (recipe is included below)
Toss the dressing in your salad, and plate. Then place your Bumble Bee SuperFresh Ahi Tuna over the salad, sprinkle with fresh cilantro and sesame seeds and a little dressing. And enjoy. This tuna is so fresh and so easy to make. I always have issues searing my ahi tuna perfectly, and I also find buying a whole piece of ahi tuna is generally expensive. Being able to purchase 2 perfectly seasoned servings of ahi tuna for only $10 really makes me a happy camper.
Bumble Bee also offers quite a few other frozen seafood options, and I’m sure they’re just as good as this ahi tuna. You should head over to their website and grab a coupon so you can try them out for yourself! If this ahi tuna is any tale to the rest of their products, I’ll be heading out to buy those asap.
